Hello Crew,
There are still quite a few straw stocking flights to be flown, if you have flown and they are not marked complete, then contact me.
For those that have completed their straw flights and are looking for something to do, I have flights for you.. These will not be assigned, but WILL count as Iditarod flights.
Starting this weekend, Iditarod Headquarters in Wasilla (PAWS) is having open house, and there are quite a few race fans that are interested on attending. These tours will last about an hour. All passengers will be picked up at the main passenger terminal at Merrill Field (PAMR). Then you fly them to Wasilla. NOTE...If you only fly one trip, you will need to stay there an hour. I suggest you return to Merrill and pickup more visitors and head back to Wasilla. Once you arrive Wasilla, and unload, then you will bring the first passengers back to Merrill. You can fly as much as you want, but remember to get all your passengers back to Merrill. These are good for a small aircraft or helicopter. Flight ticket price is, $40.00 per person, round trip. Send the ticket money to me in your report.
Use "Open House" for your flight number. If you fly more than one round-trip, then send them to me in one report, tell me how many round-trips you flew and your total flight time. Once you get your straw assignments completed, then you can fly the Open House trips.
As you probably know, you haven't received your flight hours for January as yet, the ones you need to enter in the Online Reporter. Hopefully I will get them out tomorrow.
BTW...I read today that the Iditarod Race re-start may take place in Wasilla this year as they have good snow there. In the past several races they have had to move the re-start farther north to Willow, for the lack of snow in Wasilla.
