PIREP Rodger: Straw 13 Unalakleet - Elim - Unalakleet
After getting cleaned out at the poker game last night by Jimmy Lee, I headed for bed with a full belly of fish and Imported St. Pauli Girl N/A. I was glad we caught some salmon and made Snowboss happy. Mrs Brown was certainly in a good mood and since we had so much fish I invited the Peace on Earth folks over to show our good will. Arose this morning and caught a ride to the field with Stanton on his
Snow scooter and invited him to ride along. Jimmy Lee had been up even earlier making some flap adjustments on the C206 that Snowboss had suggested so I decided to test it out. Managed to get 10 bales in by loading 8 in the fuselage and just stuffin the loose straw from the other two into the cargo pod. I brought giant plastic bags to stuff em back into at Elim. Great weather, although a little breezy from the NE.
Uneventful flight but great chance to talk to Stanton some more. Besides the great fishing we had yesterday we also talked about the ongoing problems in the community with alcohol and drugs among the younger folks and the new dental program that is going very well. Tested the flaps on landing in a crosswind on rwy14 at UNC. They
Remark18: work quite a bit better. I should have much less trouble with short field
Remark19: landings now. Heading to Peace on Earth for lunch and a nap in the sun by the window.
