PIREP Vic: Straw 14 Unalakleet - White Mountain and back.
Hello Sandy,
The weather was broken at about 3000 feet when I departed Unalakleet
for White Mountain, so I kept the aircraft at 2500 feet. The weather
cleared around New Shaktoolik so I climbed a bit for the trip across
the bay; it was very clear upon arrival.
Flight : Straw-14 (outbound)
Date : 2/9/2007
Name : Vic Alesi
TCA# 2613
# Aboard: 8 bales of straw
VFR/IFR : VFR
Aircraft: C-206
Depart. : PAUN Unalakleet
Destin. : WMO White Mountain
Dep.time: 10:01 local.
Enroute : 0:54
Fuel : 75#s
Route : VFR
Speed : 140 knots
Altitude: 2500
As I'm currently a bit suspicious about the ramp personnel I stayed
with the aircraft while they ofloaded the straw. Then I locked it
and headed over to the Quyanna Cafe for a bit of lunch prior to the
return flight.
Because the weather had been poor heading out, I half expected poor
weather heading back, but it remained severe clear all the way and I
made an uneventful landing on runway 9 at PAUN.
