PIREP returned pilot Joey: Straw 17

First flight for 2007. 439 straw bales left over from last year needed to get to Fairbanks. And of course, no crew to load the C130. Managed to gas up the fork lift and after banging in to the hanger door a couple of times, I figured out how to pick up the pallets and run up the C130 ramp. That's a lotta straw. It's been almost a year since I fired up the Hercules, but I had little trouble remembering the start sequence.

I pulled up to the TCAA cargo door in Fairbanks and spun the plane around, and backed it right to the door using the reverse thrust. I think I lost a couple of bales in the hurricane kicked up by the four props on this thing.

Then returned to cargo area at Anchorage, ready for the next flight.
