Hi Boss...
Just got home where my computer is still slightly warm from yesterday's
flying and here is my pirep for flights Anchorage to Regina and return.
We taxied out at around 0745, no point in falling out of bed too early for a
plane full of straw.
Left using runway 06L which I don't like doing what with those mountains in
front and in the dark.
ATC, bless them then vectored us a full 180 to intercept the ANC VOR and
then another 180 back over the field and then on our way south. Marvellous.
Quiet weather all the way to Regina where we were vectored to an impossibly
short runway. No good, so we opted for a southern approach to runway 31
which was equipped with something quaintly called a back beacon or
something.
We opted for a visual which in the quiet weather and my new flight yoke was
a breeze.
Quick lunch and a moose juice then blasted back to Anchorage where we were
in the bar by 7.30
Understand back in the Dak for future flights.
Best
David
