Tore the seats out of my Beech 18 Volpar Amphibian, and replaced them with 14 bales of straw. Not, in my opinion, a great deal!
Obtained permission to take off 6Left and we were off to PASW.
Arrival was on the river ice (but you never know, it might have thawed - hence the amphib), slid gently to a stop while the offloading gang rushed out to empty the 'plane.A few minutes later all that was left was dust, straw stalks and the smell.
Kicked the tyres, lit the fires and returned to PANC.
Total flight time: 1 hour.
