Delivered 7 bales over to Old Clutches house this time. Had some coffee, likely the beans have been boiling for a week or more, chewed the fat and headed back to the barn for another load. He sure is getting excited with all the activity this time of year, a yarn a minute.
The weather was high, 8 - 10 thousand TCU & maybe 6/8ths, very light wind with low few to scattered CU ground level. The usual build was evident windward side of the mountains and cleared significantly on top. I took the A-1 airway VFR off the Takotna NDB and could see Rohn from on top before making the push-over. Departing, climbed westward down the river valley towards Tin Creek until I had enough altitude to do some valley flying to get on top and take A-1 back to McGrath. The weather was making up on the return, had a 4000 ceiling to within 25GPS of McGrath with just a few CU below. I had ducked down through a hole after clearing the mountains, didn't want to get trapped on top and have to do a lot of flying trying to find a VFR hole or have to make a VFR descent through IFR conditions. Good comfortable trip, enjoyed it.
