PIREP Dogfood-1 Bellingham - Marquette - Columbus - Anchorage

Since I had my C-130 here in Bellingham for a 2 day exhibit for the Heritage Air Museum as an example of a Vietnam era Hercules for their Iraq Armed forces exhibit, I loaded my gear and took off with Jimmy Lee for Michigan. The old girl felt good and purred like giddish schoolgirl on a first date. She hadn't been on a long trip in quite some time. Had some fuel problems due to a clogged filter during our first climb to 280 but Jimmy got it fixed immediately. Landing in Marquette was snowy and cold. We had a steak dinner and a warm brandy while the pallets were loaded. Lifted off and headed for Columbus NE for the Vet supplies. Refueled and headed slowly to PANC with 75 Kt headwinds all the way. Good clear night, though and the Northern lights kept us entertained all the way from Yukutat. Parked at our terminal in North parking and headed for the sack.
